Whatís Happening In Aruba

August was such a busy month for us and the rest of the island that weíre only now getting around to our August newsletter! Here are some important events that happened here on One Happy Island in August:

Police Day and 32ndAnniversary, August 10-18

Police Day in Aruba this year was on August 16. Itís a day to honor and celebrate the many men and women who spend their days and nights keeping everyone safe in Aruba. This year is the 32ndanniversary of the founding of Arubaís Police Corps back in 1986.†

Aruba Int'l Pro-Am Golf Tournament, August†24-26

Both professional and amateur golfers teamed up for this annual two-day, 36-hole tournament that featured gifts, prizes, and special events. The Annual Aruba International Pro-Am Golf Tournament took place at the Tierra del Sol Golf course, a beautiful terrain near the rustic North coast of the island. World-renowned golf course designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr. is the one who built the challenging course, positioned to give everyone truly spectacular ocean views. Needless to say, a good time was had by everyone who participated and/or watched!

Aruba Wine and Dine Restaurant Week, August 29 ñ September 5

The week of August 29 ñ September 5 was fantastic because the 8 different wonderful restaurants that make up the Aruba Wine and Dine group offered special 3-course menus at a special price (only AWG 35 or 45) during their Restaurant Week! And a portion of the Restaurant Weekís profits were donated to Maris Stella, Arubaís home for the elderly. Many people enjoyed great food and supported a good cause at the same time!
